A new amendment of the Act, provides that no person may be employed by a child care facility that cares for children under the age of 6, unless that person shows proof of having received the Tdap(tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) vaccine and 2 doses of the measles, mumps and rubella(MMR) vaccine or shows immunity to MMR. I recommend that this should include home daycares and group homes, it should include all licensed homes. Measles can lead to serious complications and death , even with modern medical care. The risk for death from measles or I complications is greater for infants, young children and adults, Tdap is also rapidly growing it’s important to be vaccinated because it’s highly contagious. That’s why its so important to have the law extended to include licensed home daycares and group homes, all child care centers need to be included.
