Epidemiology
Describe the population health problem in terms of sentences that address “all persons” as a total population or if you are reporting data about certain racial/ethnic groups or age groups, for example, then make this clear. What place do the data represent: (the nation? state?). What years are the data from (time)? Do not make a separate section for Persons, Place, or Time please. Do not have headings for Persons, Place, or Time either. These 3 criteria about data belong in sentences about the problem, its trends (2 points in time), and demographic characteristics or profiles. From the primary research literature, briefly explain the significance of this problem. If you do not recall what primary research is then look up the definition please. Epidemiology From Healthy People 2020, briefly explain the significance of this health problem. Cite and reference HP2020! Include your preliminary research question or hypothesis for a DESCRIPTIVE study only. This will make Paper 3, later, much easier! Follow the order of the paper topics as they are laid out. Rearrange your work as needed and do not add sections that are not requested! Edits all drafts as you go and pay attention to the Safe Assign feedback/score. Writing tips for the five papers, which build on each other to create a proposal draft, follow:1. Use a title page formatted per APA format. 7th Ed APA does not require a running head. YEAH! Do not use one!
2. Start a paper with the same title as the title page! Centered, not bolded. Then you can start your headings in bold. Also capitalize the main words in headings!
3. References needs to be per 6th or 7th edition of your APA Manual. WU wants you using 7th Ed. I’ll allow either this summer. Use correct reference format and be sure the source also is in your written text!
4. Write complete sentences please.
If you need help then please use your WU resources. This is not your 1st course here so you know how to find the Writing Center or Library staff to get help and improve your writing. I focus on writing because I hope to not have to take off large % for APA errors on the final paper (Paper 5) at the end of the course! Fix basic as you go. Each paper will build on the previous one.
