ANSWER The needs assessment The needs assessment is critical to address or inform future activities within focusing on exploring whether a program is suitable to establish a critical policy. The aim of needs assessment is mainly to promote vulnerable populations’ health by establishing culturally congruent interventions (Joo & Peters 2020). Substantially these congruent interventions are critical in supporting family resilience, health and well-being of affected individuals during the transition periods. There are various ways to conduct a needs assessment, and the possible type of needs assessment undertaken should be appropriate for the scale of policy. The scope of needs assessment is essential in-service delivery by focusing on the benefits of a broader focus addressing health needs on depression. The appropriate approach for conducting a needs assessment for depression can be enhanced through an assessment survey (Golden et al., 2017). This assessment approach aims to help in learning more about the group of community needs and get more objectives descriptions of needs from the targeted older people.  The next aspect is to determine the assessment criteria to determine the management of depression. The focus is to develop a list of criteria based on the meaningful priority to evaluate various needs to manage health conditions systematically.  Additionally, there is likely to identify a range of social issues and different measures to determine priorities to impact people’s lives. The other step in the needs assessment is establishing a plan for the data collection on depression (Golden et al., 2017). In this case, the main concern is to identify any existing sources of data through both qualitative and quantitative measures. Lastly, the other concern is prioritizing the need by setting community needs established from data collection presented for the decision-making process. Major activities conducted consist of reviewing the existing criteria to ensure issues are understood with their implications (Golden et al., 2017).  Methods of data collection Various methods of data collection will be significant for the study. The use of interviews will be essential for this case since it provides efficient first-hand information for the study. Further, interviews also assist in allowing for open-ended questions with possible customized and responsive outcomes. The other data collection method that will be used consists of questionnaires and surveys that also offer closed-ended answers. The data obtained from the questionnaires and surveys can be analyzed in various ways (Gale et al., 2017). The other method of data collection is through observations. Observation entails collecting information without asking questions since it is deemed to be more of being subjective. In most cases, it requires the researcher to add their judgment to the data and ensure the risk of being bias is minimal.  Nonetheless, some challenges can also be experienced in the collection of data. These consist of inconsistent data collection standards that need to be outlined in terms of demographic information, definitions, and accepted response options useful in guiding consistent collection practices. This can be improved by initiating a standardized format accepted in the process of data collection. The other challenge experienced in the context of the data collection process occurs in various situations and settings (Van Gelder et al.,2020).
